Arrive at Leh
On arrival at Leh airport meet our representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Leh. Upon arrival, proceed for check-in at your hotel. Remainder of the day will be for rest, to acclimatize. Since you are reaching an altitude of 4000 mtrs approximately from 200 mtrs in just one hour’s time, you may be excited and would want to explore everything on your very first day. However, it is your body which needs to get acclimatized to such height and climate. We sincerely suggest that you rest on the first day for body acclimatization. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 1Leh Local sightseeing
After leisurely breakfast, visit Shey Palace, Thiksey Monastery, Hemis Monastery and Stok Palace Museum. Arrive hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight
Day 2Leh - Pangong Lake
Early departure for Pangong Lake (approx. 145 Kms, located on the Indo China Border), via Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft.). After full day of sightseeing around the Lake check-in at fixed tented camp near the lake at Spangmik or drive back for 30 Kms to Tangtse and check into Hotel / Guest House for dinner and overnight stay
Day 3Pangong-Hemis / Thiksey-Leh
After breakfast, leave Pangong / Tangtse and retrace the Leh route across Chang-la. Upon reaching Karu, drive across the Indus and visit the famous Hemis Monastery, biggest monastery of Ladakh. Later drive on to Leh, enroute visiting the picturesque Thiksey monastery. Arrive hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight .
Day 4Leh-Nubra Valley
After breakfast leave for Nubra Valley, driving across Khardong-la (alt: 18,380 ft.). After descending from the pass, drive on for sightseeing of Sumoor area and Samstaling Gompa. Later check into a fixed camp in the same area or drive across to Deskit / Hundar for dinner and overnight in a fixed camp or hotel.
Day 5Nubra Valley-Leh
In the morning visit / explore Deskit , Hundar and the Sand Dunes where you can enjoy a short camel safari using the double-humped Bactrian camel found here (optional on direct payment). Later drive back to Leh reaching in the late afternoon / evening. Arrive hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight.
Day 6Leh-Lamayuru-Uleytoko
In the morning drive down the Indus Valley on a tour of the Lamayuru (approx. 130 Kms.) circuit, famous for the dramatically located Lamayuru monastery and the adjoining ‘Moonland’ features. After sightseeing and lunch here, retrace the Leh route till Uleytokpo (60 Kms.) and check into a fixed camp / resort for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7Uleytoko – Leh
After breakfast drive towards Leh, enroute visiting the 11th century Alchi Choskor, oldest surviving monastic heritage of Ladakh- a UNESCO listed heritage site. Thereafter, visit Sangam (confluence of Indus & Zanskar Rivers), Magnetic Point, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Kali Mata (Temple of Guardians in Spituk monastery) & Hall of Fame. Arrive hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight .
Day 8Leh-Tsomoriri / Korzok
Early departure for Tsomo-riri Lake (alt: 15,000 ft.) driving through Chumathang (hot springs), Mahe and Puga Sumdo. Tsomoriri Lake (28 km long & about 8 km wide) is the breeding ground of many migratory birds including the rare bar-headed geese. Dinner & overnight in fixed camp or Guest House.
Day 9
Tsomoriri-Tsokar-Taglangla-Leh
After breakfast retrace the route down to Puga Sumdo and then follow the road across the Polokongka Pass (4920 mtrs) to visit Tsokar Lake, a salt lake system in the Rupsho plateau which is home of the Changa nomads and support many rare wild life species. After sightseeing of the area take the Manali-Leh road to return to Leh, crossing Taglang-la (alt: 17,585ft) en- route. Arrive hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight.
Day 10Departure Leh
Leave on time for Leh Airport to board your flight back home.
